Junk Bar, Ashgrove

Here's another new addition to the Ashgrove scene.  Is Ashgrove becoming uber trendy?

The Junk Bar is the sort of place that only locals know about because it certainly doesn't shout its presence on the street.  All you'll see is a black sign and a shop window that looks like it belongs to an accountant.


At night they place a few chairs outside, a bit like a waiting room.  I guess that's for smokers.

I don't know what's inside because I haven't been there when it's open but my spies tell me it's very retro and quite funky.  There's a fish and chips shop next door and some patrons have taken their fish and chips inside to The Junk Bar to eat - neat!

Find it on Ashgrove Avenue near the Waterworks Road intersection.  It's open Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to midnight.
