Coco Bella is another find for locals in the area. It's Lamington Street, the road leading to the Powerhouse which on market days is very busy, but on a weekday morning it was quiet and suburban.
It was a cold morning in Brisbane but we managed to snaffle the corner lounge for our breakfast gathering which was warm and cosy. There's plenty of other seating both inside and outside with several comfy couch set ups outside that would be grand in warmer weather.
I liked the variety of their breakfast menu which had plenty of warm options, apart from protein fixes, for the cool weather. Fairy porridge, a light and fluffy semolina porridge with caramelised banana, cinnamon honey and toasted nut medley ($7) was my choice. And was it delicious! Light and fluffy as promised but a large and filling serving that stayed with me for hours. Yum!
I could also line up for the blueberry buttermilk pancakes ($13), the petite wild mushroom omlette with two cheeses and ciabatta fingers ($14.50) or the huevos motulenos (eggs with tomato and chilli sauce, refried beans, cheese, leg ham and tortilla) ($14.50).
Our group also ordered (pictured above) toasted bircher muesli with fruit salad, yoghurt and honey ($7) and baby pancakes with warm maple syrup ($7). The pancakes were from the kid's menu but they were happy to make them for an adult who wanted a small meal.
I found the prices were good value for money and all were happy with their selections. The coffee was well flavoured and prompt.
The web site says they also have cupcakes so I'll have to return and try these and there is another store at Ascot.
Bottom line: Loved the breakfast and would like to experience more from the other menus.
