Here's the latest report from the Brisbane Produce Market.
There is no need to panic buy with plenty of fruit and vegetables on the greengrocer's shelves, although be prepared to pay more for quality and try not to store it for long periods of time.
February is fig month and the early season fruit is already showing flavour.
There are plenty of tomatoes available with the best quality being truss and hydroponic varieties that are grown in controlled weather conditions.
However lettuce, salad mix and spinach used to enhance a salad is expensive and of poorer quality. Australian avocados have yet to come into their full season but there are still some available at a firm price.
A range of southern vegetables, such as cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkins and potatoes are available but choose wisely and be prepared to pay higher prices for quality.
Carrots will be more available from this week but onions and spring onions continue to be in short supply.
Stonefruit is still plentiful and there are tasty peaches, nectarines, plums and New Zealand apricots in supply but eat them when the skin is still firm for best flavour.
Lychees, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are still hard to get but should increase in supply in the weeks ahead.
Bananas are plentiful and in good supply, as are papaws and pineapples.
Australian Valencia oranges and US navels are on the shelves while the small variety of apples are from cold storage since they are out of season.
Grapes are starting to return to the shelves, the price is falling and varieties include globes, flames, Thompson and Menindee seedless varieties.
