Where do you take a food writer for dinner?
To save you from the same quandary I've made a little list of restaurants that will impress even the food mafia, as my partner has dubbed my foodie friends.
Montrachet
224 Given Terrace, Paddington p 3367 0030
Known for its fabulous French food, you would win points with this one by simply getting a late week booking. Make sure you book a table, not the bar if you want to look longingly into your partner’s eyes. And don't try to book Friday or Saturday nights - they’re shut.

Sake
The new kid on the block when it comes to Japanese, Sake offers innovative Japanese food with a local twist and heaps of atmosphere. Check that your date likes raw seafood first.

As hip as its name, The Buffalo Club food is a dream come true for the keen foodie. Start with mind blowing cocktail upstairs in the Sky Room.
