Adventures in Ubud, Bali

Người đăng: Unknown vào lúc 17:18

I feel like I'm in the middle of a rain forest.

The there's the constant whoosh of fast running water cascading over the rocks, the distant chatter of monkeys jumping through the trees and flocks of small, brightly coloured birds flying past.

Last night a sinuous green snake peering through our window when we returned from dinner certainly helped foster the jungle feeling.  We slept with the doors closed after that, not like the first night...

And we slept well after a relaxing Balinese massage at the Ubud Hanging Garden's Ayung Spa and dinner in the Beduur Restaurant where  French Executive Chef Renaud Le Rasle whips up a wonderful combination of French and local dishes.

Built into the side of a steep hill, the rooms cascade like rice fields down to the valley. It's 450 stairs from top to bottom but a unique cable car arrangement takes guests up and down all day, unless you really want the exercise.

Ubud Hanging Gardens is an Orient-Express Hotel.
