Food and wine weekend

This looks like a good way to spend a weekend!

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa will hold its first Food & Wine Weekend on November 20 and 21 with special guests Philip Johnson of Brisbane’s e’cco bistro, Justin Telfer from Bangalow Cheese Company and Mary Jeanne Hutchinson from New Zealand’s multi award winning Craggy Range Winery.

I've had many outstanding meals at e'cco which is reliably good. Several of Philip's cookbooks line my bookshelves but I'm more inclined just to take the back seat and let him do the cooking.

And this is a beautiful part of the world. If you go, do make the time to explore away from the resort. There are plenty of interesting food options including tropical fruit farms and local coffee growers. Some of the small local pubs are a snap shot of Australian history, well worth a pot.
