It's Brisbane's newest dining destination.
A stretch of the Brisbane River freed from it's previous restaurants and recrafted into a strip that's going to capture the imagination and stomachs of many.
Already opened are Cove and Stokehouse (full blog coming soon) and also on the list are The Jetty, Popolo and Left Bank.
Cove Bar and Dining
A summer afternoon in Brisbane will never be the same again after you’ve sampled oysters and champagne from Adam Barton’s Cove Bar and Dining. Reminiscent of a trendy bar from New York’s Greenwich Village, Cove has between 15 and 20 varieties of oysters to be enjoyed with accompaniments like cucumber and Pimm’s gel, or watermelon granita and lime salt.
Located at the new dining precinct in South Bank at the former Boardwalk site, Stokehouse will offer a fresh, inspiring and locally sourced menu to be enjoyed, Queensland style, on a massive deck stretching over the mangroves. The restaurant also provides unparalleled views of the Brisbane skyline, and bar and private venue options.
Yet to open...
Popolo
Emboldened by the undeniable success of his Petrie Terrace eatery Libertine, restaurateur Andrew Baturo is set to add a Tuscan-influenced gem to the Brisbane culinary scene. Meaning ‘people’ in Italian, Popolo is set to feature time-tested favourites such as pizza, alongside uniquely Tuscan offerings like wild boar and pheasant.
Left Bank
Brisbane’s Francophiles will soon have somewhere to sit back, relax and indulge in food, wine and a waterfront vista in a delightfully Parisian way. Combining the seduction and boldness of French cuisine and the laid-back warmth of a Queensland setting, Left Bank is the new business venture from Louise and Stuart Price, formerly of London Club at Teneriffe.
The Jetty
Rumour is that this one will open by December 18.
Proving that South Bank is Brisbane’s new premium dining destination, Bulimba’s ever popular The Jetty will launch its sister restaurant in the riverside location. This modern Australian restaurant will focus on fresh, local seafood, and retain the same vibe and attention to detail that has made the original a firm favourite.
Looks like a nice place to chillax, doesn't it? A bit of growth on the trees will help provide more shade for summer lounging but it's set to be popular with picnickers and sunbathers alike.
Find it on the board walk adjacent to the Goodwill Bridge, right next door to the Maritime Museum. Check it out.
